The RA4100 is a reliable laboratory tool for compound identification. It can be used to understand the behavior of standalone HPIMS instruments that are deployed for field analysis; an unknown sample that is run in a standalone system can be brought to the RA4100 to confirm the compound identity and correlate its mass with the measured drift time.
Changeable ion sources are available for thermal desorption from a swab or electrospray ionization from an autosampler or common laboratory syringe. An optional drift gas modification unit allows researchers to use the RA4100 to develop an in-depth HPIMS method involving alternate drift gases and dopants.
