Process Analytical Technology
Process Analytical Technology (PAT) has an important role to play in the enhancement of manufacturing efficiency. Relevant PAT provides the information needed for faster, more effective process development and change. State-of-the-art High Performance Ion Mobility Spectrometry (HPIMS) technology separates Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) from its standard configuration within an MS system, creating a flexible standalone option suitable for critical tasks such as cleaning validation, reaction monitoring and fermentation monitoring.
HPIMS delivers:
- Cost efficiency, and entry level access to the technique at low investment cost
- Substantially higher (between 2 and 10 times) resolution than conventional IMS, due to features such as an innovative atmospheric drift-tube design
- Compact technology optimized for implementation in the field.
The data presented in this paper illustrates the capabilities of this fast, reliable, versatile technology and its potential to both displace and complement HPLC.
